Episode 30

Does This Still Make Sense?

When was the last time you stopped and asked whether the things you’re doing in your business still make sense?

Not because they’re broken. Not because you’re ready to burn everything down. But because businesses change, life changes, and sometimes we keep doing things simply because they’ve become familiar.

In this episode of Optimized Living, I’m sharing a question I’ve been asking a lot as I’ve stepped back into my businesses with fresh eyes:

Does this still make sense?

We’re talking about the danger of running on autopilot, why we sometimes look for a new solution before we’ve identified the real problem, and the harder question of knowing when something has run its course versus when we’ve simply stopped giving it the attention it deserves.

And yes, the podcast itself has been part of that conversation for me.

Sometimes the answer isn’t to quit, pivot, or reinvent.

Sometimes you just need to recommit.

In This Episode

We talk about:

  • Why distance can help you see your business differently
  • The difference between intentional decisions and familiar habits
  • Why you should define the problem before searching for a solution
  • How to tell the difference between releasing something and avoiding something difficult
  • Why neglect doesn’t always mean something no longer belongs
  • How faith and stewardship shape the way I think about changing seasons
  • The question I’m using to reevaluate what deserves my time and attention

A Question to Take With You

This week, don’t try to reevaluate your entire business or overhaul your whole life.

Pick one thing that keeps coming to mind and ask:

Does this still make sense?

Maybe it needs to change.

Maybe it needs to go.

Maybe it needs to be simplified.

Or maybe, like this podcast for me, it still matters and it’s time to start showing up for it again.

You don’t have to keep doing something just because it’s familiar.

But you also don’t have to walk away from something meaningful just because you’ve lost momentum.

Pay attention to the difference.
